Where messiness meets mercy, grace, and truth.

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

—Isaiah 30:21

Because the gospel isn’t Just “come as you are,” It’s also “stay as you become.”

Hope for the hopeless

Veritas Recovery is especially—but not exclusively—for people who love Jesus but feel stuck doing what they don’t want to do.

We draw close to those struggling with addictions, unhealthy patterns, or misordered desires and help them find freedom through the truth of the gospel and the power of biblical community. We’re for those who run from labels, “look fine” to everyone else, or are suffering in silence. They may not know what to do, but they know something isn’t right. They’re tired of hiding, tired of struggling, and tired of just trying harder.

We’re for the affected, the afflicted, the addicted, the wobbly, and the weak-kneed. Where the misordered has become disordered. The stuck that don’t know why. The ones wanting to address the hurt before it turns into harm. The downtrodden who have become destitute. The secretly depressed. And the drunk.

Those mired in shame that keeps them from church, those who lack access to Gospel-centered resources, and those who don’t quite fit in with secular programs..

Enter Veritas Recovery.

We’re not a hospital. That’s the church. We’re not a doctor. That’s Jesus. We exist as a spiritual first responder, offering immediate help, hope, and resources for those navigating messy sanctification and unsure where to turn.

We introduce, teach, and point people who lack access, knowledge, or courage toward Gospel-centered recovery. Because freedom is different from sobriety.

Our ultimate goal is not sobriety, although that’s important. Our ultimate goal is Jesus. Aim for him and the holistic healing he offers—from sin, from brokenness, from trauma—and get sobriety thrown in. Allow him to get to the roots to get to the rot.

If you’re ready to stop pretending and start moving toward real freedom in Christ, you’re in the right place.

Gospel-Centered Recovery

Aim for Jesus, get sobriety thrown in.

The secular approach…

  • Addresses addiction late, after consequences become severe.

  • Focuses primarily on behavior change and symptom management.

  • Centered around quantity and frequency.

  • Treats sobriety as the ultimate goal.

  • Avoids deeper questions of sin, brokenness, worship, identity, and eternity.

  • Can leave people sober but still isolated, restless, and miserable.

The Gospel-centered approach…

  • Uncovers and identifies the problem earlier and at the level of the heart.

  • Addresses addiction as a worship disorder rooted in misordered loves.

  • Sees sobriety not as the goal, but as a fruit of deeper transformation.

  • Names sin honestly while offering grace, forgiveness, and restoration.

  • Aims not just for abstinence, but for lasting freedom and flourishing—now and in eternity.

“I love how you prioritize abiding with Jesus over ‘getting sober.’ I have been longing for a Christian community that I could resonate with. You really helped.”

THE MISSION

To help individuals, especially within the church, find freedom from addictions of all sorts and at all levels through the sanctifying truth of the gospel, the power of Christian community, and lifelong discipleship rooted in Jesus Christ.

THE VISION

We envision a gospel-centered recovery movement where messy stories are met with grace and mercy, idols and addictions of all kinds are exposed by truth, lives and relationships are restored and transformed, and where people learn to walk in the fullness of life available only in Jesus Christ.

imperfect Jesus-Followers, passionate about gospel-centered recovery

Our Six pillars

There are six strategic areas where we focus our attention: media, resources, education, community, retreats, and equipping/empowering.

We recover out loud in Christ so that others don’t die quietly in their addictions without him.

“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

2 Corinthians 12:8-9

DONATE

“There's a large demographic like me—abusing alcohol and heading down a dire and destructive path—but we don't fit traditional definitions so we're orphaned.”

Veritas Recovery is an officially recognized tax-exempt nonprofit under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. All donations are tax-deductible.

A MOVEMENT OF GOSPEL-CENTERED RECOVERY

“I just want to say thank you. I'm a pastor’s kid and have been a believer most of my life. I didn't start drinking until I was in my 30s. It took over almost immediately. There was SOOOO much shame around it, which kept me stuck in the cycle.”
